GDPR Policy
This GDPR Policy applies to users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom. It explains your specific rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and how vidmate.ph complies with them.
Who this applies to
The GDPR grants specific data protection rights to individuals in the EEA and UK. Even though vidmate.ph is operated from the Philippines and primarily serves users in South and Southeast Asia, we respect and comply with GDPR obligations for any EEA or UK visitor to our site.
Who is the data controller
The data controller for vidmate.ph is the website operator. This means we decide what personal data is collected, why it is collected, and how it is used.
For any GDPR-related enquiries, contact us at [email protected].
What personal data we process
When you visit vidmate.ph we may process the following personal data:
Lawful basis for processing
Under GDPR Article 6, we process your data only where we have a valid lawful basis:
Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — operating and securing the website, improving APK download pages, preventing spam, and producing aggregated traffic insights. We have assessed that our interests do not override your fundamental rights.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — analytics and advertising cookies. You may withdraw consent at any time via your browser cookie settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing that took place before withdrawal.
Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — where you contact us, we process your name and email solely to respond to your request.
Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary:
- Server logs — deleted after 90 days
- Contact form messages — deleted 12 months after the enquiry is closed
- Analytics data — retained for 26 months in anonymised, aggregated form
- Advertising cookie data — governed by Google’s retention policies (typically up to 13 months)
Your rights under GDPR
As an EEA or UK resident, you have the following rights. You can exercise any of them by contacting us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days at no cost to you.
Right of access (Art. 15) — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification (Art. 16) — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Right to erasure (Art. 17) — request deletion of your data where we have no lawful basis to keep it.
Right to restriction (Art. 18) — ask us to pause processing while a dispute is being resolved.
Right to data portability (Art. 20) — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where processing is based on consent or contract.
Right to object (Art. 21) — object to processing based on legitimate interests. We will stop unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds.
Right to withdraw consent — withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time without penalty.
Right not to be subject to automated decisions — we do not make automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Third-party processors
We use the following third-party services that process data on our behalf as data processors:
Google LLC — Google Analytics (site analytics) and Google AdSense (advertising). Processing is governed by Google’s Data Processing Terms and Standard Contractual Clauses.
Automattic Inc. (WordPress) — website platform, plugin services, and security tools. Covered by a Data Processing Agreement incorporating SCCs.
Web hosting provider — server infrastructure and content delivery. Covered by a Data Processing Agreement.
We do not sell or share your personal data with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
International data transfers
vidmate.ph is operated from the Philippines, which does not currently have an EU adequacy decision.
Where data is transferred outside the EEA (for example, to Google in the US or to hosting infrastructure), we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission as the appropriate safeguard.
You may request a copy of the relevant SCCs by contacting us.
Cookies and consent
We obtain your consent before placing any non-essential cookies.
You can manage your cookie preferences at any time through:
Refusing non-essential cookies does not affect your ability to use the site or download APK content.
Children
We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16.
If we become aware that we have inadvertently done so, we will delete it immediately.
Parents or guardians who believe a child has submitted data to us should contact [email protected].

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
